Color Exploration - An ongoing project and research
During the summer of 2021, I was lucky enough to be part of an amazing project developed in a Boisbuchet workshop led by dutch designer Lex Pott. While working on my family of candles I gained this huge admiration for the conversations that were generated by the color palettes each of the participants choose, so I decided that the concept for my designs would be mainly inspired by a color research study based on my Mexican culture, therefore I decided using "rosa mexicano" (Mexican pink) as the dominant shade.
This was my first approach to color as an element to study and explore.
I´ve been exploring patterns, shapes, and combinations to complement my readings and research about the topic and of course to make the color a prominent theme in my projects.
I´ve found how the eye can create perspectives and distort an image without moving any element but color.
I've developed a few images exploring proportion and color palette creation.
And besides using paint or digital media for my exploration I've also employed photography as a main resource to capture balance and existing color compositions in the world.
